SQUIRES KITCHEN Real Chocolate Fondant Icing Mix 250g
This quick and easy to use icing mix is a must-have for any baker, whether you’re filling a sponge cake, or topping off your cupcakes, cookies and fondant niceties.
This icing mix is made from natural cane sugar and real Arabica coffee, and gives your cakes and bakes a natural colour and instant flavour uplift.
To create a satisfyingly smooth buttercream, simply mix into softened butter. See pack for full instructions.
Instructions for 250g mix:
Sieve before use.
Place fondant icing mix into a bowl and gradually stir in 35-40ml hot, boiled water.
When thoroughly mixed, use immediately.
This quantity will cover approximately 12-15 cupcakes. More hot, boiled water can be used if a thinner consistency is preferred.
To make butter icing, mix 125g unsalted butter with 250g fondant and add approx. 2 tsp. of hot, boiled water.
This can be used as a filling or piped onto cakes as a topping.
Place the powder in a microwaveable bowl and mix with 40ml of cooled, boiled water.
Heat on full power in a microwave for approximately 1 minute, stirring at 20-second intervals until all the powder has dissolved and the mixture is dark and smooth.

Stand the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until powder has dissolved and the mixture is dark and smooth.
Do not allow any water to get into the mixture.
Do not overheat as the chocolate icing will lose its gloss.
To make into a delicious buttercream icing, make the fondant as above, then gradually stir in 125g softened, unsalted butter.
Leave to cool and thicken, then beat until the buttercream is thick and creamy. Can be used as a filling, a covering or for piping.
